Cross-Canada Tour 2007

HarperCollins released Autumn Stringam’s book “A Promise of Hope” in September 2007. Two weeks before the launch, Dana and Autumn Stringam and their young family were on their way from Alberta to Halifax, Nova Scotia. They pulled a 30 foot camper trailer behind a rented six-seater Dodge truck and began what would be the adventure of a life-time. “We thought it would be easier than it was. It was really hard, really exhausting.” says Autumn, “But we did what we set out to do. It strengthened our family relationships, sold a lot of books and helped a lot of people to realize that for twelve years there has been a viable solution to bipolar that does not include dangerous or ineffective drug therapy.”

As the family wove their way across the country, telling their story in libraries, theaters and malls, the press caught wind of the A Promise of Hope Tour. By the time they reached Vancouver in late October, Autumn and Dana were speaking to packed rooms, interviewing for major news articles and featured on morning television.

“We loved the tour, but loved getting home and getting back to normal even more. The kids enjoyed a great small-town Halloween and I kept everyone homeschooling for a few weeks until we were all settled and ready to jump back into the community.”
